ARAVA INSTITUTE Interdisciplinary Environmental Academic Program The Arava Institute offers an accredited university-level semester or yearlong program for both undergraduate and graduate students. Take courses in diverse environmental fields, engage in peace-building and environmental leadership seminars, and partake in educational field trips — all with a diverse student population hailing from Israel, Palestine, Jordan, and beyond. Courses focus on the areas of water management, renewable energy, ecology, sustainable agriculture, environmental politics, and more. Internships are also available in the above research fields. BAR-ILAN UNIVERSITY Identity-Based Conflict Resolution – International Summer Program Taught in English by leading scholars and practitioners, this unique interdisciplinary program offers five intensive conflict resolution courses (10 credits) and a particular emphasis on conflicts found in Israel. Upon completion of the full program, a certificate of participation is awarded by Bar-Ilan University’s Program in Conflict Management, Resolution and Negotiations. Students can request an official university transcript of their graduate level courses and grades for transfer to other institutions. Applicants should hold or be candidates for an undergraduate or graduate degree. Degrees and studies are acceptable from all the social sciences, the liberal arts or the humanities. BEN-GURION UNIVERSITY M.Sc. Program in Hydrology and Water Quality Dry lands occupy more than one-third of the earth's land surface, including most of the Middle East and Israel. Dwindling water supplies and deteriorating water quality impede the sustainable development of drylands and the well-being of their growing population. The aim of this program is to introduce students to cutting-edge research and graduate education in water sciences, aimed at improving human life in drylands through technologies and policies for the sustainable use of water resources. M.D Program – Medical School for International Health The Medical School for International Health is the only four-year medical school that incorporates global health coursework into all four years of the curriculum. Centered on the principles of cross-cultural medical practice, the curriculum includes studies in international preventative medicine, geographic medicine, tropical diseases, global environment, and refugee and disaster medicine. HAIFA UNIVERSITY International M.A Program in Child Development Established with the goal of improving the lives of children at risk around the world, this program is designed to prepare the next generation of international experts who will focus on pressing questions regarding the nature of child development and how it applies to the lives of children and their families in developing countries. Coursework equips professionals with the knowledge and skills that are necessary when returning to their home countries to affect and influence the well-being of children and their families. International MBA Program Specializing in Sustainability (Global Green MBA) The Global Green MBA is unique in Israel for its focus on issues of environmental and social sustainability that are increasingly at the heart of business managers’ responsibilities. This innovative MBA program seeks to promote sustainability-oriented leadership by providing the students with the essential tools for business management and incorporating leading-edge principles of sustainability throughout the curriculum. MPH Specialized in Health Systems – Administration and Global Health Leadership The first of its kind in Israel, this program is dedicated to providing students with a strong foundation from which to critically examine current global health challenges. The American-based curriculum is taught by expert local and international faculty and meets the specific set of requirements of MPH programs abroad. In an increasingly integrated world marked by growing disparity, public health leaders will need to be aware of how global and national forces affect health within and between national borders. The University of Haifa, in partnership with other universities around the world, is proud to lead this organizing effort. Students meet in Israel, learn together, develop lifelong relationships with colleagues from around the world, and then work to promote best practices in health care. International Relations with Specialization in Diplomacy Studies The focus of the program is such that it will bring to the fore the fundamental role of collaborative diplomatic mechanisms and as such is designed to provide students with new insights, concepts and analytical tools for fully understanding the enhanced functions of diplomacy in this new setting. The program is intended to enable students to identify effective solutions for a broad range of political, cultural and economic issues with which they will be faced, and for their continued involvement as bureaucrats, officials and decision makers in the context of complex negotiating situations and policy implementation. International MA in Peace and Conflict Management A rigorous, one-year program of study that introduces an interdisciplinary approach to peace and conflict management. The program addresses intergroup conflicts at different levels, ranging from local community conflicts to international conflicts, and introduces a variety of approaches to dealing with such conflicts including formal and informal ones. While special attention is given to Middle East conflicts, the program also addresses conflicts and possible interventions to promote peace in other parts of the world. In addition to the great variety of courses within fields such as political science, international relations, psychology, sociology, history and Middle East Studies, the program offers a wide range of exciting and enriching activities. These activities include field trips to regions of Israel that are facing conflicts and dealing with them; a practicum component in NGOs working in the domain of peace and conflict; thoughtful simulations of decision-making and negotiations; and guest lectures given by practitioners and academics. HEBREW UNIVERSITY OF JERUSALEM MA in Glocal International Development This 18-month graduate provides tools for the effective translation of academic perspectives into practical know-how conducive to work with communities across the globe. An integral part the program is the semester-long internship with an international NGO, held in the third semester of the program. International Master of Public Health (IMPH) Over the course of one full academic year, this program provides basic and advanced tools of the theory and practice of public health and community medicine for those either currently engaged in this field or planning to do so in the future. The program promotes excellence in international public health research and practice covering a broad range of topics. The International School of Agricultural Science The Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food and Environment of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, is one of the most prestigious global institutions in agriculture, nutrition and environment. Five, fully accredited international master’s degree programs are offered in English in the fields of: Plant Sciences, Animal Sciences, Environmental Quality Sciences, Nutrition, and Viticulture and Enology. MA in Nonprofit Management and Leadership An intensive one-year program at the Rothberg International School. This program is designed to create a cadre of leaders in the nonprofit world with cutting-edge skills and theoretical and practical knowledge in management, entrepreneurship and leadership. International MA in Human Rights and Transitional Justice A one-year MA program offered to graduates of BA programs in political science, international relations and other academic disciplines related to the fields of human rights and transitional justice. The staff is composed of legal scholars and practitioners from Israel and abroad. LL.M in Human Rights & International Law The LL.M. in Human Rights and International Law is offered through Hebrew University’s Rothberg International School (RIS) in partnership with the Faculty of Law, long considered the most prestigious law school in the country. This program is geared toward students who have completed a law degree and are interested in careers in law, academia, and governmental and non-governmental sectors. As a participant in this program, you will learn from experts about how to create and implement human rights and international law. Smart Cities and Urban Informatics (SCUI) The Goal of the Program is to equip a new generation of urbanists (planners, analysts and policy makers) with the requisite toolbox for addressing the development of the Smart City. This includes both the hands-on analytical skills and the critical faculties to address the current and anticipated future challenges posed by Smart Cities. The Hebrew University has an agenda to become a leader in this field where prospects for growth worldwide seem unbounded (autonomous vehicles, volunteered geographic information, Internet of Things etc). The Social Science Faculty has a mandate to develop a new social science agenda in this area and the SCUI program advances this goal. Department of Summer Courses and Special Programs Hebrew University's Department of Summer Courses and Special Programs often hosts multiple short-term study programs relevant to global challenges, including an international reporting project, trans-boundary water cooperation, trauma and resilience, and more. IDC HERZLIYA Global MBA The Global MBA at IDC provides future business leaders and executives with the theoretical knowledge and practical tools to conduct business in the global arena. The global MBA offers part time programs in areas such as innovation and entrepreneurship, global leadership and strategic management that share core classes in general management taught from a global perspective. Sustainability & Government double major Program The Sustainability & Government double major program provides graduates with a competitive advantage in a broad range of fields in the public and private sectors that require expertise in sustainability and related issues such as energy, water, city planning and others. Graduates will have the skills necessary to work in managerial economics and social arenas in Israel or abroad and will be well suited to be employed in the government, the public sectors and in relevant NGOs, as well as at clean-tech startup companies. MBA Program in Healthcare Innovation The program is designed for professionals from Israel and abroad who have experience in the field of healthcare, or are interested in management, innovation, and entrepreneurship in healthcare. International MA in Conflict Resolution and Mediation This one-year MA program offers all the tools for effective analysis, mediation and negotiation strategies and conflict resolution frameworks in the international arena. MA in Security and Diplomacy Studies This one-year program provides advanced knowledge and analytical tools for the study of strategy, diplomacy, decision-making and the shaping of security and foreign policy. The outlook of the program is global, with a special focus on Israel and the Middle East. At the practical level, the program prepares students for engagement in the international arena, defense bodies, international organizations (both governmental and NGOs) and international economic organizations. The program's special features include visits to Israel's various borders and military installations, meetings with ambassadors in the Ambassador Forum, and a Middle East Crisis Simulation. The Bob Shapell School of Social Work The central mission of the Master of Social Work Program is the preparation of students for advanced social work practice and leadership. The program is focused on providing knowledge and practice skills, with the aim of promoting creative, planned, informed theoretically and empirically based social work. The study of the Master of Social Work Program is based on three clusters of courses: fundamental coursed for the development of knowledge and its conceptualization; the critical reflective approach in social work; the development of knowledge and its conceptualization by means of research intervention. MA in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) This program prepares graduates for global career opportunities in the field of English language learning and instruction. International Program in Emergency and Disaster Management This one-year program covers both theoretical and practical aspects of emergency and disaster management. Migration Studies This one-year MA program provides the skills and practical experience to become a leader for real social change. This interdisciplinary program includes courses that cover topics such as immigration and citizenship policies, perspectives on refugees, humanitarian aid, challenges of social and more. Food Safety & Security Summer Program This summer program will provide you with a deep-dive into the ever-challenging global issues around food safety and security. Take advantage of two tracks that will enable you to delve deeper into specific fields: Agriculture and Policy and Nutrition. Food Safety & Security Graduate Concentration Track A graduate concentration aimed at local and international Tel Aviv University graduate students pursuing a degree in a relevant field and with an interest in inter-disciplinary training in Food Security. This program will train students who seek jobs dealing with food security and safety in the public, private, and NGO sectors or in international development organizations, as well as students contemplating continuing on in academic research. Sustainable Development and Public Policy The Manna Center for Food Safety and Security and the Department of Public Policy offer a special "Introduction to Sustainable Development" class, the first of its kind in Israel. In addition, opportunities exist for graduate students to join a unique research group which conducts cutting-edge field studies, on the ground in Africa and Asia, around themes of sustainable agriculture and renewable energies.
